Q. Is the Welsh Mountain Zoo open all year?
A. Yes. The Welsh Mountain Zoo is open all year, every day apart from Christmas Day.

Q. What time does the Zoo open?
A. The Zoo opening hours are as follows:
Mar to Oct: 9.30am - 5.00pm
Nov to Feb: 9.30am - 4.00pm
Closed Christmas day.

Q. How much does entry into the Zoo cost?
A. Entrance to the Zoo costs £7.95 for adults (over 16), £5.80 for children (3 -15 inclusive) and students (NUS card), £6.90 for seniors and a family ticket (2 adults & 2 children) costs £24.95. All children under 3 years go FREE.

Q. What are your Group Prices?
A. Group prices to the Zoo are as follows:

Adult (16+ years unless a student) - £6.20
Children (3 - 15 years inclusive) - £4.20
Seniors - £4.20
Students (NUS Card) - £4.20
Under 3 - FREE

Please read the following before booking in your group:

Groups visiting the zoo should book in advance to receive entry price discounts.
- Parties must be paid for 'en bloc' otherwise group discounts do not apply.
- Please book any learning sessions and times before making a Group Entry booking.
- Approximate numbers are acceptable for booking purposes. Any cash adjustment can be made after arrival.
- Party rates are applicable to groups of 15 and over.
- One free teacher/courier allowed with each ten full paying children/students.
- Coach drivers: no charge.
- Price Note: additional discounts available for visits October - March inclusive.
- You may need to refer back to these notes when completing the booking forms.

Q. Does the Zoo hold Learning Sessions and if so what age group do they cater for?
A. Yes. Learning sessions are free and cover a wide range of subjects all designed around the National Curriculum. We offer a first class educational service for all ages and abilities, from nursery groups to junior and secondary schools and colleges and universities. Learning Sessions can be delivered in both Welsh and English. Contact the Education Department for more information and an Education Pack (01492) 532938.

Q. Does the Zoo offer a memebrship scheme?
A. Yes. The Zoological Society of Wales (Z.S.W) Association, (registered charity no. 507970) offers membership to individuals and families. There are two different types of membership; full membership and associate membership. Full membership offers Free admission and reduced admission for Groups, lectures and talks, participation in Association activities, social events and regular newsletters. Associate membership offers One Free admission to the Zoo per person per year, lectures and talks and regular newsletters.

Q. Does the Zoo accept Tesco vouchers for entry?
A. Yes. Tesco Vouchers can be used for entry only (not membership) and for individual tickets only (offer excludes family tickets). Please visit the Tesco website for Terms and Conditions.

Q. What other vouchers does the Welsh Mountain Zoo accept?
A. The Zoo also accepts Ten Top Attractions vouchers which entitles the payee to a saving of £1.50 off the price of an adult ticket (when accompanied by another adult paying full admission) or £1 off one family ticket. Please read the voucher for terms and conditions.

Q. Where is the Zoo situated and how do I get there?
A. The Zoo is situated in a hill top position overlooking Colwyn Bay in North Wales . If travelling by car exit the A55 Expressway at Rhos-on-Sea interchange (Junction 20) - the Zoo just 3 minutes drive from here and is signposted. At Easter and from May to mid September the Zoo's free minibus will operate a continuous daily service from Colwyn Bay Railway Station.

Q. How far is the Zoo from Colwyn Bay Town Centre?
A.The Zoo is situated approximately ½ a mile from the town of Colwyn Bay . At Easter and from May to mid September the Zoo's free minibus will operate a continuous daily service from Colwyn Bay Railway Station.

Q. Is the Zoo difficult to get around for those with mobility constraints?
A. Due to its location, visitors with mobility constraints may have trouble accessing certain areas of the Zoo. Wheelchair users are given free entry into the Zoo.

Q. Do you hire out pushchairs/wheelchairs?
A. Yes. Free pushchair and wheelchair hire is available from the Zoo's Office.

Q. Can I bring my dog into the Zoo?
A. Dogs may be brought into the Zoo and exercised in the non tarmac area of the Car Park only (in a reasonable manner and on a lead at all times). They are not permitted into any other area of the Zoo, as this may endanger the welfare of the Zoo's animals.

Q. How big is the Zoo?
A. The Zoo and its gardens cover an area of 37 acres.

Q. Can I access my car once in the Zoo?
A. Yes. We have a central coach and car park situated opposite our Zoo Gift Shop the 'Trading Post.'

Q. What catering facilities do you have at the Zoo?
A. The Zoo has fully licensed catering facilities all year round. The Flagstaff Cafe and Safari Restaurant serve hot and cold food and tea and coffee throughout the day. There is also an ice cream shop and a sweet shop open during the busy periods.

Q. Do you have a Gift Shop?
A.Yes. The Trading Post is the Zoos' extensively stocked shop, full of zoo and animal related items for sale

Q. Where do I go for Lost Property?First Aid?
A. Please ask at the Trading Post or the Zoo Office for these services.

Q. Is there a parent and baby change facility?
A. Yes. This facility is available adjoining the Trading Post.
