Learning Sessions

The Welsh Mountain Zoo Education Programme has been revised and updated for this years sessions. It aims to accommodate all ages and abilities from nursery to KS4 and college students to OAP's.

A visit to the Welsh Mountain Zoo is not complete without the chance to look closely at a giant cockroach or touch a snake.

We offer any group visiting the Zoo the chance to get close to some of our animals, in carefully supervised learning sessions. The learning sessions have been devised by educators to cover the Life and Living Processes attainment target of the National Curriculum.

Learning sessions are free and cover a range of subjects all designed around the National Curriculum. The sessions are available for any age group and level and can be catered to particular subjects.

During our busy season (May-September), the sessions are restricted to half an hour only. However, at other times of the year it is cheaper to enter the zoo and a whole day or half a day’s activities can be arranged. We would be pleased to tailor these sessions to fit in with particular topics or assignments.

The sessions are not just for educational establishments, but may be used by groups and organisations simply having a day out and wishing to find out more about the zoo or wanting some hands on experience with some of our animals.

Learning sessions are very popular and early booking by telephone is essential.

The Learning Sessions are free and take place every weekday, at the following times:

10.00 - 10.30 10.45 - 11.15 11.30 - 12.00 1.15 - 1.45 2.00 - 2.30
