Printed Resources

We offer a range of printed Zoo Trails and Education Packs which can be used in the Zoo to find out more about our animals. All are designed to cover aspects of the National Curriculum, and all are accompanied by comprehensive teachers notes, thus taking the work out of a visit to the zoo. A series of Fact Sheets and Theme Sheets give group leaders or pupils extra information about our Zoo and its animals before they come to visit.

All material is designed to complement a visit to the Welsh Mountain Zoo, and cover specific aspects of Life and Living Processes in the National Curriculum.

Most of our resources are available in English and Welsh. We sell one copy, which can then be photocopied at school.

For Nursery, KS1 and KS2 Groups Sessions and resources particularly aim to cover life processes, variation and classification, and living things in their environment.

‘Facts About’ sheets (£2.00 per set) - A set of information sheets covering subjects such as classification, reptiles, colour, rainforests.....
Species Information Sheets (£4.00 per set) - Set of information sheets covering a range of animals you will encounter at the zoo.

Habitat/Breeding/Diet...

Invertebrates in the Classroom (£2.00 per set) - Information about invertebrates that can be easily kept in the classroom. How to keep them and where to find them.
KS1 Pack (£5.00 per pack) - Covers basic classification, habitats, and feeding animals.
Includes activities to do before/during/after your visit.
KS2 Pack (£5.00 per pack) - Similar content to KS1 pack, but at a higher level.
KS2 Trails (£2.00 per trail) - Lead the pupils around the zoo and cover particular topics: British Native Wildlife Trail, Endangered Animal Trail and Junior Trail
