JUBILEE AND PRIDE CELEBRATIONS

We had lots of fun celebrating Love Your Zoo week as part of the half term break with a special Pride and Love theme.
This year's annual 'Love Your Zoo' week-long event coincided with the beginning of Pride Month! This meant that this year's theme was everything related to love! In fact, we also had plenty to celebrate with the extra special Queen’s Platinum Jubilee!
A Rainbow Hearts trail ran throughout the half term, as well as ‘Colourful Crafts’ which will took place in the WILD Centre every day from 30th May – 2nd June. We also celebrated with a special ‘Jubilee Crafts’ which took place on 3rd June, as well as our new daily species talks.
Charlotte Dykes, marketing manager at the Welsh Mountain Zoo, said: “This is a fantastic annual event that helps celebrate all things Zoo!
"Whilst the Zoo is a fantastic day out, there is a lot of work that goes on behind the scenes, particularly in relation to conservation and breeding that people may not be aware of. We’re keen to be able to share more on this aspect of our work and show a different side to the Zoo that people may not automatically associate with us.”
She added: “We’re looking forward to celebrating all things love throughout the half term, and we’ll be running various fun events and activities for all to enjoy in this great weeklong event.”
