European Pine Marten
(Martes martes)

Once one of Britain’s most common mammal species, European Pine Marten numbers have depleted significantly and by the early 1900’s could only be found in a small number of remote areas across the UK. Following conservation efforts, numbers are increasing and populations are expanding within specific areas of the UK including Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland as well as in the Republic of Ireland.
