Thornley Leisure Parks Sponsors Snow Leopards and Children’s Playground at Welsh Mountain Zoo

The Welsh Mountain Zoo – the National Zoo of Wales – is delighted to announce a new sponsorship agreement with Thornley Leisure Parks, a premier provider of luxury holiday parks across North Wales and beyond. This exciting partnership will directly support the Zoo’s snow leopards and one of its children’s playgrounds, enhancing both wildlife conservation and visitor experiences.

Through this sponsorship, Thornley Leisure Parks will contribute to the care and welfare of the Zoo’s majestic snow leopards, a vulnerable species that the Zoo is dedicated to protecting through education and supporting the Snow Leopard Trust. Additionally, their support will help maintain and improve one of the Zoo’s popular children’s play areas, ensuring young visitors have a fun and engaging space to enjoy during their visit.

Michaella, Partnerships & Fundraising Manager at the Welsh Mountain Zoo, expressed her enthusiasm: “We are thrilled to partner with Thornley Leisure Parks in supporting our incredible snow leopards and enhancing our children’s play facilities. This sponsorship strengthens our ability to provide top-quality care for these endangered big cats while also creating an even more enjoyable experience for families visiting the Zoo.”

Thornley Leisure Parks, a family-run business committed to delivering outstanding holiday experiences, is equally excited about the collaboration. David Thornley, SNR of Thornley Leisure Parks commented: “As a company that values nature and community, we are proud to sponsor both the snow leopards and a children’s playground at the Welsh Mountain Zoo. This partnership allows us to contribute to vital conservation efforts while also supporting family-friendly attractions. The Zoo is a fantastic day out for visitors of all ages.”

As part of this collaboration, both organisations will launch joint initiatives, including co-branded promotions, educational campaigns, and special discounts to highlight North Wales as a top destination for wildlife enthusiasts and families.

Michaella continues. “The vital funding which we receive through corporate sponsorships not only helps care for the animals here at the Zoo, but it also supports conservation projects worldwide. By having supporters who are passionate about conservation, we can find new ways together to reach a wider audience about our mission, caring for wildlife and wild places both here in North Wales and across the globe. We are very grateful for the relationship we have with Thornley Leisure Parks and would like to thank them for all their support.”

We have a wide number of corporate sponsorship packages available. Find out more about supporting the Welsh Mountain Zoo by contacting Michaella at pfm@welshmountainzoo.org.
