Dear Supporters,
We are writing to inform you that our official Facebook page has recently been hacked.
You may have noticed posts promoting an organic product. Please be assured that these have no connection to the Welsh Mountain Zoo. We strongly advise you not to trust or engage with any current content, offers, or messages from the page, as they are not from us.
We are actively working with Facebook and the Action Fraud department (which reports to the National Fraud Intelligence Bureau – NFIB) to resolve the issue and regain control of our page as quickly as possible. We also kindly ask for your support by reporting the compromised page directly to Facebook—this can help speed up the recovery process. The guidance for how to do this are below.
As a charity, we rely on our online presence and the support of our followers to fund our conservation work, animal welfare, and education programmes. This situation has been a significant setback for us, and we’re doing everything we can to resolve it swiftly.
Once we have recovered our original page—or if we create a new official one—we will post a video message from our team. This will serve as confirmation that the page is genuinely operated by us. Please treat any other content or messages with caution until you see this official video update.
For verified updates, please visit our official website: www.welshmountainzoo.org
And follow us on Instagram: @welsh_mountain_zoo
We also want to reassure you that all other systems, including membership data and personal information, remain safe and secure. We have robust systems in place to ensure full GDPR compliance.
If you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to contact us at info@welshmountainzoo.org or by phone on 01492 532938.
Thank you for your understanding, support, and for standing with us during this challenging time.
Warm regards,
The Welsh Mountain Zoo Team
