Many amphibian and reptile species are sadly now extinct with 41% of amphibian wild populations threatened with extinction due to poaching and deforestation of their natural habitat.

Papilio Forest, Coming Easter 2025

Papilio Forest—named after the Latin word for ‘butterfly’—is an exciting new addition to our Zoo with it’s doors planned to open in Easter 2025! This immersive indoor habitat will transport you into the vibrant world of tropical butterflies, showcasing their fascinating life cycles and incredible diversity.

Inside, you’ll experience not only these delicate creatures but also a stunning array of plants and animals that help illustrate the butterflies’ vital role in pollination and ecosystems. The environment within Papilio Forest will closely mimic the natural habitats of various tropical butterfly species, offering you an up-close view of their beauty and behaviours.
