IUCN Listing: Critically Endangered

The Sumatran Tiger, found only on the Indonesian island of Sumatra, is Critically Endangered, with fewer than 700 individuals left in the wild. No singular group exceeds 50 tigers, making them a highly vulnerable species. The Sumatran Tiger inhabits dense rainforests, and faces threats such as habitat loss, hunting and human conflict. In the wild, they live up to 15 years, but their future is an uncertain one in the wild as populations continue to dwindle.
