The Australian Galah is a vibrant, pink-feathered parrot known for its playful, acrobatic flight and loud calls. Found across Australia, including Tasmania, they inhabit woodlands, scrublands, and grasslands. Their diet includes seeds, berries, and insect larvae. In the wild, they live up to 25 years, while some in zoos reach 70. Highly social, they gather in noisy groups called a “Garrulity” and lay 2–6 eggs, which hatch in about 22–26 days.

Despite being classified as “Least Concern,” habitat loss threatens their nesting and resting spaces. Conservation efforts are vital for their survival.
