Adopt a Snow Leopards

Whether you adopt an animal for yourself or as a gift, you’ll be directly supporting the care of our incredible wildlife and vital conservation efforts at the Welsh Mountain Zoo.

How your adoption will help…

With your support, we believe our conservation research can help sustain endangered species and encourage others to join us in preserving the planet’s incredible biodiversity.

Threat Level: Vulnerable

With only 2,700–3,300 left in the wild, Snow Leopards are still at risk, despite conservation efforts. These amazing big cats live in the high mountains of Central Asia, navigating rocky slopes up to 5,000 meters high!
They face habitat loss, poaching and less food, making survival tough. Solitary hunters, Snow Leopards prowl at dawn and dusk, hunting blue sheep and ibex. They live 10–12 years in the wild and up to 20 in zoos.

Fun fact: Snow Leopards are actually closer relatives to tigers than leopards!
