The Amazon Parrot is one of the most recognisable and charismatic birds in the world. With their bold, colourful feathers and incredible intelligence, they’ve become popular household pets. These playful parrots love mimicking human speech and can often be heard squawking their favourite words. Growing up to 45 cm in length, they thrive in South America’s tropical forests, feeding on seeds, nuts, and fruits. But despite their charm, they face threats from hunting and the illegal pet trade. With over 30 species, each with unique plumage, these birds are truly special.
