Adopt a Eurasian Brown Bear

Whether you adopt an animal for yourself or as a gift, you’ll be directly supporting the care of our incredible wildlife and vital conservation efforts at the Welsh Mountain Zoo.

How your adoption will help…

With your support, we believe our contributions to conservation research can help prevent the loss of endangered species and encourage others to join us in preserving the planet’s incredible biodiversity.

IUCN Listing: Least Concern

Once found across Europe and Asia, Eurasian Brown Bears now mostly live in Northern Europe and Russia. These powerful bears can weigh up to 300 kg and love snacking on berries, nuts, insects and fish.

A Eurasian Brown Bear can live up to 30 years in the wild and even longer in zoos. While not endangered, habitat loss and hunting still threaten wild populations. Protecting their forests helps ensure these gentle giants continue to thrive!
