Adopt a European Pine Marten

Whether you adopt an animal for yourself or as a gift, you’ll be directly supporting the care of our incredible wildlife and vital conservation efforts at the Welsh Mountain Zoo.

How your adoption will help…

With your support, we believe our contributions to conservation research can help prevent the loss of endangered species and encourage others to join us in preserving the planet’s incredible biodiversity.

IUCN Listing: Least Concern

Once common in Britain, Pine Martens nearly disappeared but are now making a comeback in Scotland, Wales and Ireland thanks to conservation efforts! These agile climbers use their semi-retractable claws to race across tree branches, hunting for mice, voles, and berries.
They live 5 to 10 years in the wild and up to 18 years in Zoos. Though their population is growing in the wild, they continue to face threats from habitat loss and hunting.

Protecting native woodlands in Wales and the United Kingdom helps support the survival of these amazing animals for the future!
