How your adoption will help…

With your support, we believe our conservation research can help sustain endangered species and encourage others to join us in preserving the planet’s incredible biodiversity.

Threat Level: Vulnerable

The Asian Small Clawed Otter, the smallest member of the otter family, is known for its tiny yet dexterous claws, perfect for handling prey. Found in rivers and wetlands across India, the Philippines, and China, these otters are facing a vulnerable future due to habitat loss, hunting and pollution, particularly from deforestation and pesticides that contaminate their waters.

Despite these threats, the otters live in social groups, called “lodge” on land and “raft” in water. They primarily feed on fish, mollusks, crabs and insects, and can live up to 12 years in the wild or 20 years in captivity. With their unique skills and playful nature, it’s critical we work to protect their habitats and secure a future for these remarkable creatures.
