Threat Level: Least Concern

The European Fallow Deer, introduced to Britain during the Roman period, has since thrived across woodlands and open areas. With their distinctive spotted coats, these medium-sized deer live in small herds and are found in shrublands, forests, and grasslands.

They feed on grass, leaves and shrubs, living up to 12 years in the wild. Though not endangered, they still need protection from habitat loss and hunting.
