Threat Level: Least Concern

Once common in Britain, Pine Martens nearly disappeared but are now making a comeback in Scotland, Wales and Ireland thanks to conservation efforts! These agile climbers use their semi-retractable claws to race across tree branches, hunting for mice, voles, and berries.
They live 5 to 10 years in the wild and up to 18 years in captivity. Though their numbers are growing, they still face threats from habitat loss and hunting.
